Caratteristiche

ECO-INNOVATION

Our Cleantech® Technology guarantees mining and metallurgical companies a complete exploitation of the metallic powders, definitively solving the problem of their disposal.

ZERO WASTE

In the case of steel mill EAF dusts, the technology adopted makes it possible to transform it into ferroalloy ingots and zinc oxide, without producing toxic waste. The slag obtained from the smelting process is also an inert material and can be used as a raw material for the production of cements or mineral wool.

CLEAN PROCESS

The Cleantech® system ensures a "clean" process, as all the processed material and every aspect of production do not release any type of polluting waste into the environment. The beating heart of the technology is an electric arc furnace equipped with two technological innovations that allow the direct melting of metal powders: the DIR (Digital Impedance Regulator), which manages and controls the electric power of the furnace, and the TM (Thermodinamic Model) which calculates the recipe of the reagents to be included in the production process.

THE BENEFITS

 

Cleantech® treats the powders directly thanks to an "open arc" furnace control system, managed by the DIR. During the process, the software automatically calculates the mixture of reagents (lime, silica sand and carbon coke) to be mixed with the metal powders before melting. The mix is introduced into the furnace through a safety slide, positioned between the three vertical electrodes, which fall directly into the "arc-zone". The fusion of the obtained mixture generates gases that are sucked into the off-gas duct and filtered in bag-house filters. Our furnaces operate in "hot-tops" conditions, eliminating the risk of “blow backs”. In addition, the levels of secondary dust formation resulting from our process are lower than expected, due to the “plug-flow” and “cross-flow” furnace charge feeding mode.
